Anne Furbank opened the doors to her shop in the village of Buckden 27 years ago.
It started small but has expanded to an impressive 11 showrooms and now attracts
customers from all over the country. It was awarded the coveted National Independent
Retailer of the Year by the industry magazine Drapers and was voted Hunts Post Retailer
of the Year.
In 2004, it opened the doors to The George Hotel and Brasserie which sits next door
to the shop. Nine months were spent refurbishing this rundown Coaching Inn to turn
it into a modern, boutique hotel.
Last year the decision was made to go online and in 2008 here we are. Determined
to maintain the Anne Furbank philosophy of, quality clothing and excellent customer
service, the site concentrates on one of Europe’s leading luxury knitwear specialist,
